Second Launch Attempt as TriStar L1011 Takes off for Pegasus-XL Launch with CYGNSS

Orbital ATK’s TriStar L1011 aircraft with the Pegasus-XL rocket attached to it’s belly has taken off from Cape Canaveral in Florida once again ahead of a planned release time of Pegasus of 13:35 UTC. The first stage of Pegasus will then ignite to begin the launch of NASA’s CYGNSS mission. Launch was postponed from Monday due to a hydraulic issue in the release system of Pegasus, then again due to flight software updates to the satellites onboard.
