Launch of Manned Russian Soyuz TMA-14M on Soyuz-FG Rocket

A Russian manned Soyuz TMA-14M Spacecraft launched this evening, September 25th 2014 at 20:25 UTC on a Soyuz-FG booster from Baikonur in Kazakhstan. Onboard the spacecraft are Russian cosmonaut and Soyuz commander Aleksandr Samokutyayev, female Russian cosmonaut Elena Serova and NASA astronaut Barry E. Wilmore. Elena will be the fourth Russian cosmonaut to travel into Space with the last being Yelena Kondakova on STS-84 in 1997.

The three crew members will dock with the International Space Station later this evening to meet up with their fellow Expedition 41 crew members already onboard the complex. Together they will conduct scientific experiments during their 6 month mission in low earth orbit.
