Launch of Soyuz Rocket with Manned Soyuz MS-04 and Two New Crew Members

A Russian Soyuz-FG rocket has successfully placed the manned Soyuz MS-04 spacecraft into orbit with two new crew members soon to join the International Space Station’s Expedition 51 crew. Russian cosmonaut and Soyuz Commander Fyodor Yurchikhin as well as NASA astronaut Jack D. Fischer launched at 07:13 UTC from Baikonur in an unusual two crew launch due to Russia’s decision to reduce crew levels for 2017. The crew will dock to the International Space Station later today.
