Progress M-21M Manually Docks to ISS After Kurs Failure

An unmanned Russian Progress Spacecraft, Progress M-21M, docked with the International Space Station (ISS) today, November 29th 2013 at 23:30 UTC. The vehicle has 2.9 tonnes of supplies for the 6 manned crew. Docking occurred manually after the automatic Kurs system failed and issued a Station Keeping command, Oleg Kotov onboard the Station then activated a manual joystick which allowed him to manually pilot the unmanned craft into the docking port. It is not known what caused the failure but shows why such a backup system exists.
