Shuttle Atlantis Moved to Vehicle Assembly Building


Space shuttle Atlantis was moved from its processing hangar to the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on June 29. In August, Atlantis will return to its hanger from temporary storage in the VAB to resume transition and retirement processing in preparation for public display. Atlantis will move to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in November and a grand opening of Atlantis’ new home is scheduled for July 2013.
