SMAP Spacecraft Separates from Delta II Upperstage


NASA’s Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite has successfully separated from the Delta II upperstage and is now in orbit after it’s mission. Liftoff occurred at 14:20 UTC from Vandenberg Air Force Base with separation of SMAP occurring at 15:18 UTC.
