Curiosity Touches Down on Mars!

The Rover Curiosity, NASAs newest and largest ever rover touched down on Mars today, August 6th 2012 with touchdown being confirmed at 06:32 UTC. Touchdown of course occured 14 minutes earlier but due to the 14 minute delay in signals reaching Earth took longer to be confirmed.

Immediately after touchdown the teams celebrated as images from the Rovers cameras began downlinking, confirming wheels down and contact made with Mars!
